There is an old story tell about Charming Moon, one man picked a golden yellow fruit and brought to his mom but the fruit has disappeared, left only the gorgeous smell. At the midnight, on the full moon day, the man wanted his mom to taste the fruit. He went back to the tree he found the fruit. Every full moon day, the man and the woman went out and found this fruit until they fell in love with each other and got marriage because of the charm of the fruit. This fruit brought the wealth, happiness, and grateful.

Charming Moon is one of the felicitous sweet, use in a wedding and other important ceremonies.

3. Darathong
Darathong

This is the most favorite sweet in this blog. It tastes sweet, crunchy, decorate with watermelon seed and gold.

Darathong or Thong-Ek Kajang has been created in around 1900. Darathong is similar to Mongkung Petch but it is different by the ingredients but the outer is the same.
Darathong is made of flour, egg yolk, coconut milk, and sugar. The recipe is exactly the same as Thong-Ek but makes marks around like a star gooseberry or pumpkin, put it on the crunchy tiny plate made of flour and decorate with watermelon seed cover with sugar and edible gold.
This sweet is quite complicated to make but it really tasty and beautiful. When you come to Thailand, some people may say that Darathong is Jamongkut. In fact, Jamongkut is another kind of sweet that is different and created in around 1800. In the Thai dessert, book has written that Darathong is Jamongkut and this book is regarded as the original Thai dessert recipes. That why sometimes it calls Jamongkut
